Title: the other hip
Post by: sootie on February 15, 2009, 04:42:32 PM
i had a left hip resurfaced last july,i am doing fine my surgery was a great success,my problem now is i wonder if my right hip is acting up. i was  told by my surgeon that i have arth in my right hip and i may have to get it done in the future.i had constant pain in left groin which evenually led me to hip surgery.my query now is i am having a lot of back pain (right side)

and i was wondering can back pain be an indication that something is wrong with your hip regards sootie

Sootie,
I thought I had back problems due to back pain. Turns out it was my hips that caused the back pain because of compensation in walking. 3 months post op and my back feels really good still, miracles do still happen ;D.

Sootie,

I've had back pain for years, much of it is due to hip flexor tightness and compensation. THis also cause my sacrum to lock up at time.  When this happens you see a deep sway in the back.  I'm only 17 days post op but I have less back pain already.
