Title: Earliest time when I can Run **
Post by: blitz373 on April 15, 2009, 08:54:18 PM
What would be the earliest (soonest) time from surgery I can start to run again.. I do realize everyone is different, and all doctors are different, but I would like to hear from others as to their own personal running time frames, and how it has worked out for them.. Right now I am at 12 weeks and would like to be running by July 4th if all continues to go well..   i see doctor on June 30th, (5 months post op.) and am hoping he approves .  Naturally will not run without his backing  (not that dumb) So please let me know your stories ,to all you fellow runners..     Thank You...

Some doctors have a set protocol, I would call your doctors office and ask them when he usually allows running.  Dr. Gross is @ 6 months, of course every case is unique.

So my suggestion, call your doctor's office.

Mr McMinn says it takes a full year for the bone to fully strengthen and that no high impact activities, running and skiing, should be atempted before then. Good luck!
