Title: A lump at the scar area underneath my skin
Post by: Faffie on April 28, 2009, 03:54:14 AM
Underneath my skin at the top of my thigh next to my scar, I have a swelling. It feels like I'm sitting on a couple of tennisballs.  It feels stiff and is the same now for about two weeks. I had my surgery 24th of febuary. The PT doesn't know for sure. Has anybody have the same ecperience? And what to do about it?

I would call your surgeon and bring that to his attention, you are about 8 weeks out and the lumps and bumps should be receding not increasing..... just to be sure check with your doc.

Hi

I agree with Chuck.  You should ask your surgeon about the swelling.  Sometimes the stitches under the skin become irritated or don't melt properly.  It is best to ask your doctor since we are not medically trained or can see your problem.

Good Luck.

My G.P. made an echography ( is that the right word in english? ) of my lump. It seems to be scartissue. A matter of bad luck. The Physio Therapist should try to help by using ultrasound. Also streching should help. We'll wait and see.
