Title: SQUATTING TO DEFECATE
Post by: mazorca on March 07, 2010, 06:16:32 PM

With two new BHR hips, I have trouble squatting to poop, a necessity in countries without Western-style toilets.  How soon and what strategies have people used to accomplish this feat?

Most of us used some type of elevated toilet seat as even Western style toilets are too low.

I live in Asia and have been through many countries where squat toilets are common, however it is easy to get a sit-down toilet in every country. If you are staying in a rural village, most houses might have squat toilets, so you will have to order a sit-down toilet. They are available everywhere.

I find that when you install a sit-down toilet, if you make a plinth about 10 cm (4") high under the base of the toilet to raise it up, you can get a really comfortable seat.
