I can't seem to find the instructions about changing the dressing or leaving it off. I'm a week post-op and the incision is dry/nothing seeping or draining. Is it at this point that I stop using the dressing so that it can really dry out? I thought I remembered that from my hospital stay, but I can't find any reference to it in my materials.
Thanks!
Hi
None of us are doctors. The way to know what to do is call your doctors office in the morning and ask. That way you know. We have no way of knowing what was in the doctors mind. Every doctor has their own post op protocol. You and your insurance paid that doctor a whole lot of money - his/her job is to answer your questions. Call the office tomorrow and ask. Always better to be safe than sorry.
Good luck.
Pat
Double check your discharge papers, normally they will give you instructions on how to handle your incision and your dressing.
