Title: 8 weeks between procedures
Post by: roosevelt heights on April 02, 2010, 09:47:09 PM
I will join the bi-lat team in less than 72 hours...Sounds like most doctors prefer to do them at or near the same time....I assume their must be some benefits...curious to know who had the same experience as I did, how did your first hip rerspond to being the "dominate" one?

Roosevelt, I had mine 12 weeks apart. In my case my doctor wanted the first leg strong enough to support the second in healing. It worked out pretty well for me. I think I could have swung it in 8 weeks, so no problems there.

I know that due to my PT, the fixed leg began seriously outperforming the unfixed one, to the point my right (last) was deteriorating rapidly and I was really glad I had the surgery coming up.
