Hello all-
First and foremost, I think this website and forum are both fantasic resources.
I have been suffering from osteoarthritis in my left hip for 5 1/2 years and it has gotten progressively worse. I had hip arthroscopy surgery in Nov 2005 and it helped for a few years. Also, I've received Synvisc injections during the past few years that provided temporary relief. I also have mild arthitis in my right hip, but it hasn't been too bad.
I will be turning 40 this year and I've done my due diligence regarding hip resurfacing. I think I'm ready; especially since I was extremely active and the arthitis has gradually reduced my activity level.
I have a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and my hip issues have really caused havoc on my game. I haven't trained much during the past eight months and the sad thing is that I didn't really miss it (until now).
JXB - I saw your post regarding Danny Dring and was instantly motivated after hearing his podcast interview.
I meet with the surgeon next week and was wondering if anyone had any additional input. I have seen the list of questions to ask. It will be a BHR on the left hip.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.
