I am 13 months post surgery. I have been skiing. Felt good. I have a new work out routine which requires lunges and squats. I have been doing squats with weights for a while i have not done lunges. I fell like i can without problem. Any input?
Anyone know how to post a video?
A couple of my favorite lunge workouts:
1. On a 400 meter track - do 5 walking lunges and 5 pushups - repeat all the way around the track
2. Hold a weight (I use a 45lb plate) directly overhead and do 14 walking lunges, (7 on each leg)/ rest 1min then repeat 2-6 more times. As you get more fit do fifteen 6 count burpees in between lunge sets.
have fun,

I find lunges more challenging/effective than squats but not a problem doing them.
I've been doing them about once a week with 15kg on a straight bar or 12kg on dumbells. I find the lunges good for balance and keeping the legs straight while doing them. I really should do them more often. ;D
lunges, deadlifts and squats - all good! I find the lunges where you go at a 45 degree angle out (not straight ahead) work gluts very well
Nothing like squats to strengthen the legs, hips and back. They really helped my skiing. I do not do any heavy weights anymore but just enough to wake up my legs and keep them in shape.
At 13 months I personally did not like lunges because my hip would still click a lot while I was doing them.
