Title: Zostavax vaccine after resurfacing?
Post by: John C on August 05, 2011, 12:05:27 AM
Has anyone received any input from their doctor about Zoztavax. It is the vaccine that the CDC is recommending for everyone over 60, in hopes of preventing shingles, which is very painful and fairly common in people over 60. My concern is that the vaccine is a live virus, and therefore it could lodge itself in the resurfaced joint where the immune system cannot reach it.
Any doctors offering advice on this?

John, good question!  I'm sure Lee Webb or Dr. Gross would be happy to answer if you send them an e-mail.
