I attended the Hip Course in Baltimore MD last weekend. There were many of the very experienced hip resurfacing surgeons along with many surgeons wanting to learn more about hip resurfacing. I listened to many presentations and I will summarize some of the important information shortly.
I did several video interviews and just finished editing the Dr. Gross interview. Dr. Gross discusses hip resurfacing, the negative media blitz that has been happening, his cementless record and the future of hip resurfacing. I am always happy that the doctors will do the interviews so we can learn more about hip resurfacing.
Here is the link to the Doctor Video section where his current interview is at the top described as Dr. Gross Interview Baltimore 2011.

I hope you enjoy the video and learn a lot.
Pat
pat,
the video seems to cut off abruptly after he talks about x-ray for cup position. (mid-way through the video? 10:30 or so?)
i enjoyed what I heard so far. I benefited from two of his 'incremental improvements' that he mentions. The bad bone density and the use of the spiked cup.

Pat, I had the same problem. I'd love to see the rest of the interview!
I will break it up into two videos in a day or so. It takes a bit of time to edit the videos. I am sorry you are having problems with the interview because it is very interesting.
Pat
I split the Dr. Gross 20+ minute video into two parts. They are both posted on the doctor interview page here

I hope everyone can see the complete video now. Sorry for the inconvience.
Pat
Great videos Pat ( hope you are well and have now made a full recovery).
Dr Gross..absolutely brilliant! I really respect his determination and academic and surgical endeavour to continously advance Hip Resurfacing.
If I lived in the US he's the guy in which I'd be placing my absolute trust. I can see why you Grossites are always so full of admiration.

Excellent info. Thanks for posting.
In the wake of the recent article in The New York Times, the interview with Dr. Gross is very interesting and reassuring. (Unfortunate that the hurricane curtailed the conference and your opportunities to interview other surgeons.)
From articles like the one in The NY Times and comments from some critics of HR, one might think that the many, many skilled surgeons around the world who perform HR surgery are a bunch of charlatans. The interviews that Pat (and Vicky Marlowe) provide to us absolutely demonstrate otherwise.
Thanks, Pat.
Great information! Thanks Pat! (I love my doctor).
Thank you so much for your videos. I have an appointment with Dr. Gross next week. Based on comments on this site and the video I feel like I am in good hands. As an active female of 46 years, I sure hope I am a candidate!
Well I thought I posted on this earlier.
Thanks for the great video Pat. And thanks to the doctor's for taking the time. It is nice to hear a voice of reason among all the naysayers out there. I suppose this is why you don't see quotes from Dr. Gross in the NYT. They can't let reason get in the way of a sensationalist story.
