Title: Has anyone had surgery with Philip Schmitt D.O. in Michigan??????
Post by: rbt2011 on September 03, 2011, 08:47:54 AM
I am looking for some feedback on Dr. Schmitt.  If you have had surgery with him I would welcome any comments and appreciate if you could share your experience with me.

Dr. Schmitt seems like a skilled and experienced alternative, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on him besides the number of procedures he has done.

Thanks for your help

I have had a highly successful experience with Dr. Schmitt.  He performed a hip-resurfacing on my right hip 4 years ago, when I was 59 y/o.  I play hockey 3 days a week, ride a road and mountain bike regularly, and play golf (walking the courses about 1/2 of the time) and my hip is perfect.  I continue to do hip-specific exercises (between the other listed activities) just for normal maintenance.  I have experience with at least 4 other ortho surgeons (due to knee issues)  and Dr. Schmitt was, by far, the most open and down-to-earth surgeon I have ever dealt with.  He LISTENS and he keeps you informed in language you can understand.  And, he is really genuinely nice guy.  I have recommended several other people to him and they each have had an excellent experience.  You should have no fears in working with Dr. Schmitt.
