Hi
Welcome to Hip Talk.

If you are looking for a doctor with good hip resurfacing experience - check out the doctors list from the website   http://www.surfacehippy.info/listofdoctors.php (http://www.surfacehippy.info/listofdoctors.php)

If you just want the list from Smith and Nephew that does not tell you how experienced the doctors are try here   http://www.birminghamhipresurfacing.com/surgeonlocator/index.cfm? (http://www.birminghamhipresurfacing.com/surgeonlocator/index.cfm?)

Having read and learned about hip resurfacing for 3 years, I always encourage people to find experineced hip resurfacing surgeons  http://www.surfacehippy.info/pcselectingsurgeon.php (http://www.surfacehippy.info/pcselectingsurgeon.php)    I have medical studies on the website showing that experience means at least 50 - 100 hip resurfacings.  Personally, I want a doctor with hundreds or thousands.  I had my hip resurfaced with Dr. De Smet of Belgium who has done over 3000 hip resurfacings and over 3000 thrs.

If you use one of the newer, less experienced doctors, they will often give you a THR if they feel the surgery is complicated because they don't have the experience to do the complicated surgeries.

How old are you?  What special problems do you have?  How is your bone density? are you male or female?  All of these questions will are important in choosing a surgeon.
