I live in Central Valley of Calif. No one here does the Birmingham. I've looked at Callander in S.F. and his web site. I looked at Schmidt's web site in Mich. Are there any competitive cyclist out there who have had good outcomes with someone. I wanted to use Rogerson in WI, but he won't take my insurance: Blue Shields. Any help or opinions would be appreciated. I race Elite Masters 1/2 about half the time and Pro/1/2's the other half. Would like to stay competitive, but this pain is getting pretty unbearable.
Dr. Rector in Boulder, colorado has a good reputation. I'm sure you raced here and know the beauty of the place. Dr. Rector will be doing my hips at Boulder Community Hospital. A lot of competitive cyclists have provided testimonials for Dr. Rector. Check out his website.
I checked out his web site; being that he was from Boulder and there are a lot of cyclist there. I will contact them next week to get a feel for their program. Thank you very much for pointing that one out to me. I had kind of forgotten about him being on the list.
In the meantime, anyone else is free to pipe in with their opinions.
Hey John,
Check out Dr Ball in La Jolla.

If you decide to come to Boulder for a consultation with Dr. Rector, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I'm a cyclist with two kids attending CU Boulder and I would be happy to show you around.
John - Check with Vicky Marlow on the other website. She pops in here once in awhile and she's on the members list. She has been putting together a hippy gathering for a number of years in San Fran and this year she says McMinn is going to attend. I gotta believe that there are some HR surgeons with some decent experience in a city the size of San Fran. She may have some ideas for you.
John, I believe Floyd Landis had his BHR in So Cal, not sure who his surgeon was. I no longer compete but my hips are 100%. I'm on the east coast.
Good luck, moe
Wow, lots of info. Thanks everyone. Boomer, maybe I'll take you up on that invite if I make it to Boulder. I'll just keep doing my research and checking things out. Always open for more input if anyone has anything else to contribute.
Please do not hesitate to call me. 303-638-1879. I would be happy to help you. I'm having my first hip done by Dr. Rector on November 30.
