I'm almost finished with all my pre-op testing, my last stop will be for medical clearance. Took the class and now I know everything I'll need to know for my surgery. Got poked and checked and interviewed. Found out about rehab at Rusk Rehab Hosp. Now I just need to get another exam and get my medical clearance. I'm going on a little trip to the Fla Keys next week then I'll come back for Bilaterals with Dr Marwin on 11/15 and get back to having fun again.
Can't wait, I' ready!
Great news! Enjoy your trip and keep us posted post-surgery. Good Luck to you!

Woodstock,
I love your approach. What a positive way to go about things. Taking a warm water vacation, and getting a tan ahead of surgery sounds great. I'll be right behind you. I have my hip class on December 7, and my pre-op on December 17th. I'm saving my warm water vacation until I can wallk a little better. Rehab trip to the Big Island at the end of March.
Stay posted.
Best wishes on your surgery. I look forward to hearing more.

Glad to hear everything is in place for your bi-lat resurfacing. Great attitude and positive way to approach surgery. We all get nervous, but it is best to concentrate on the positive and plan on how we will get back to an active life. You are doing a great job of that. I look forward to reading your Hip Story when you come back.
Have fun and Good Luck.

Just saw Dr Marwin last week for my 1 year check-up --Bi Lateral BHR. All is good.
Great doctor.
Good luck -- you have the best of care and rehab.
Woodstock,
You have an awesome attitude! You'll do great. Have fun on vacation. ;D
Cool trip and great 'tude. Keep it up, Woodstock.
Best wishes soon to be Woodstock Hippy. Enjoy your vacation.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I'm really feeling good about my surgery. I had never even seen Joint Disease Hospital before and I thought that HSS was the only place to go in NYC. After my meeting with Dr. Marwin I thought ''Well, I guess there IS good medical care beyond 70th St and York.'' Yesterday's visit to JDH confirmed it. While the building isn't as impressive as HSS, every single person I met was so on top of their game, so willing to help and so cheerfull about it that I'm really glad that I'm putting myself in their hands. It won't be long now, I can see myself running again next summer.
Double Trouble did you stay at Rusk? How was the food
Good luck Sweeney ;) (MTBR)
Woodstock,
Good luck ..... You are in great hands with Dr. Marwin. If I were ever to need to have my left hip done or a knee replaced, only Dr. Marwin will do it. I found the entire staff at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases outstanding.
PS: have your family bring in food while you are in HJD.
