I just completed all of Pre- op exam work and classes. Less than 48 hours before surgery and still very nervous.
Jim,
It's gonna be a cake walk. You have chosen one of the best Hospitals in the country and one of the a top Surgeons in the world! All you need to do is keep that positive attitude and it will all happen!!
Good luck Friday.
Dave
You'll be fine, Jim. Dr. Su and co. will take care of you and you'll come out of it firing on all cylinders. Think of it as a countdown to getting your life back
I was nervous too, but kept reminding myself that the last days of living with a bad hip are over very, very shortly, and the day of surgery is the beginning of long term improvement and relief, and something extraordinarily positive to look forward to.
You'll be fine, not to be trite, but focus on positive outcome and relief, it really makes a difference, and you'll come through with flying colors.
All the best
Dan
Thanks everybody. I really, really appreciate the support.
24 hours and counting......
Hope it went very well, best wishes
Dan

All right Jim! Welcome to the club, we'll send the papers, funny hat and secret handshake... ;D
Great to hear it went well....
Does anyone know what a 59 mm cup means and Ãg it is good or doesn't mater?
Jim-
Haven't you heard "size doesn't matter." LOL
That is a pretty good sized one.
Dan
Congrats Jim...may your healing begin...

That is a typical size for a RS, and yes size does matter since a typical THR is 28=30 mm. That difference is why after 6 months we don't have any restrictions.
Dr Su said everything went text book. I am amazed at how little pain there is.
Walked down hall this morning with walker. If it wasn't for the light headiness, I would feel awesome.
Congratulations Jim, that first walk is awesome, right?!
Congrats man, everything gets better from here on, just take your time and follow the program, and all will be well.
Dan
Jim-
Thanks for the update. It certainly brought back memories of my first walk. Of course captured in video and still shots by my girlfriend.
Best wishes.
Dan
Today was crutches and stairs. Should get out tomorrow. Sitting in chair now. I am amazed at how good I feel.
Isn't it nice to have nothing from the hip? I'm a year out and it still amazes me
Jim,
Great to hear how well things are going for you. And, now you get to go home. Congratulations and best wishes on a rapid recovery.
Boomer
Congratulations! Hope your recovery continues to be great, you'll feel even better once you are home.
I have to stay at an apartment until I cn fly next week. So I will be out of hospital but not" home" until the 11th.
Post a message to Tin Soldier. He was doing some kind of Hippy New York City Marathon when he was at the apartment. Or try Woodstock if you are bored, he'll have you doing a Hippy Triathalon.
Jimt you are in NYC at one of the best times of the year. It will add to all the positive memories you'll have to look back on.
Sorry you don't get to go home yet. I hope you bought yourself a recliner. Nothing finer than going home and plopping down in a nice soft recliner.
Cheers to you.

I'm doing great. Just hangin in Princeton and doing some rehab. It is freaking amazing the range of motion right out of the box. I think Dr Su is the best of the best.
Thanks for the positive energy Boomer. I'll throw some bak your way.
Jimt.
4 sets of Pt today and zero pain.
Princeton! Not bad. I'm a born and raised Jersey kid. Lot's of stuff happening in Princeton.
I think you are onto something about Dr. Su. I've read a lot of posts on this site and his patients seem to have remarkably fast recoveries.
Four sets of PT? That's inspiring and why I keep coming back. I had my first outpatient PT today. It was encouraging.
Glad to hear your doing great. 2012 will see a bunch of us drinking toasts to our fellow Hippys.
