I'm 4 weeks post op today and all I can say is these past 2 weeks or so I've been sleeping like a baby. I don't wake up at all during the night and it feels amazing to be sleeping so well. Prior to surgery I could only sleep a few hours at best at a time. I would be up constantly throughtout the night and anytime I would move it would hurt and I would wake up. My leg is still really weak and I'm working on it but sleeping well is one of the greatest things at this point in the recovery.
Know what you mean - just slept eight straight hours.
That's awesome Pete. The lack of sleep was a major motivator for my surgery. Since then its amazing. My eureka moment came at about 6 weeks, when I would roll over and NOT think about my hip as I did it. Congrats on the night freedom!

I totally agree. The nerve pain that made it difficult to get comfortable at night was just constant and nagging. Not there anymore, a good night's sleep is sooo good for you both physically and mentally.
The not being able to sleep thing was what put me over the top and made me schedule my surgery. I'm looking forward to sleeping in on the weekends again, one of my favorite things to do, with out pain. I'll be glad to find comfort in bed again soon.
Once a few weeks after surgery, you'll find yourself sleeping more and more normally. Love that deep sleep now.
This is one of the best things post-op that I've dealt with thus far for sure.
