Title: Skiing again as a Bi-Lat..
Post by: powderhippy on December 09, 2011, 06:00:29 PM
A big hello to all my old skiing pals on this site. Well today I went up to the mountain and wanted to see how the old muscle memory worked. Had surgery on my second hip 6/2010 but like my other one, I waited the full year before getting back on the boards. Both hips performed perfectly. The mountain has only been opened on weekends but today it opened 7 days a week. We had a nice storm earlier this week so today's opening produced unskied "over the top boot" deep pow, cold, light and fluffy. Took me one run to feel normal and then headed for the good stuff. Wow, both hips worked great. More of the mountain should open this week and will have to make another video showing that Bi-Lats can rip with the best...LOL
For all those Hippys who just got surgery or are thinking of getting the procedure, don't hesitate. Even with two resurfaced hips, skiing is as good as ever. Yippppeeeee.  Best to all, Shelly

That's great news.  I plan on hitting the slopes next season so I have a full year also.

Thanks for giving us an update.

Dan

Can't wait  -  no skiing for me this season.  Scheduling surgery after the first of the year, so I'll have a good 1 yr of healing before skiing next year.  First stop: Steamboat!!!

Shelly,

Hee-Haw!  Great you are back skiing with some fresh powder.
I skiied today and it was foggy on top with a light drizzle, but any day on the mountain is better than a day in town!
The snow was soft and turns were easy on the groomed runs.
