Title: Using TRX following hip resurfacing
Post by: Pete Schultz on December 11, 2011, 10:59:36 AM
I am a 37 year old physical therapist practicing in NYC.  I had my left hip resurfaced by Dr Su less than a year ago and have helped to rehab dozens of young athletic patients following hip resurfacing.
I wanted the groups feedback on a program I helped develop with a few fitness trainers and surgeons using the TRX to return to athletics following hip resurfacing.
I wasn't able to attach the full program but you can find it in the patient education tab on the Dynamic Sports PT website:

Dynamic Sports PT dot com

If you have trouble feel free to e mail me schultzpm@yahoo to get the pdf of the full program.
I would love to hear any feedback and also any exercises people have done to get them back to sport or high level activity/ training.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Pete

Hi Pete
Thanks for the great program.

A copy of your program is posted on the main website thru this link:

Actual pdf posted here:  http://surfacehippy.info/pdf/preophipprogram.pdf (http://surfacehippy.info/pdf/preophipprogram.pdf)

Hope that helps people find your work.

Hi Pete,

I am one year post-op Left BHR and I also teach TRX. Your program looks great! In addition, single leg squats, balance lunge, and crossover lunge would all help build strength in the affected side once they have mastered the first group of exercises you have.

Just saw this... this is a great set of pre (and after a few months, post) op exercises.
