Title: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Post by: Pat Walter on December 23, 2011, 07:09:16 PM
I would like to wish the over 3000+ members of Hip Talk and all the guests a very Merry Christmas! May you enjoy your new hips and families for a wonderful holiday celebration.

If you are in pain, my New Year's wish for you is to find a solution thru an experienced hip resurfacing surgeon.

May we all be out of pain and active again.
May we enjoy life to it's fullest.
May we be Thankful for surgeons that have learned to rebuild our hips.
May we be Thankful for the medical companies and researchers that develop new hip devices.
May we be Thankful for our families and friends.
May we be Thankful for each other - for support and caring, quiet help and listening.

Happy New Year!

Pat

Thank you very much to Pat and all the great people who post here.  I have learned so much and went into surgery feeling very prepared.  I am so grateful for the new hip I got this Christmas and for Dr. Gross and his staff who got the job done! My outlook is so much brighter now that my hip pain is gone.  Merry Christmas everyone and a big thank you  :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukkah!

I feel guilty because I gave myself the best present of all.

No, come to think of it, I am sharing this gift with my family and friends.  I no longer cause them pain and concern with my limping.  I can participate actively again with them.  I am not grumpy because I am constantly in pain.  I can help when I could only watch before.

Best wishes.

Dan

Merry Christmas to all and a painless New Year to all the hippies out there on God's great earth.

This was a wonderful year on this forum with lots of support given by some of the best hippies this board has ever had IMHO.  With the exception of some minor drama and a hacker or two this has really been an excellent year.

The reason this board is so good is because of you guys.

I look forward to 2012 being even better.

Chuck

Yeah, Thanks to Pat and everyone.  I'm not quite sure where I'd be if it weren't for this website.  Maybe still in pain, maybe with a THR, maybe trying to find a surgeon who would relunctantly do arthro work on my hip only to have it not work out,...

The other day I was awake at 3 am thinking about "The 12 Days of HR", hmmm?  I got to about day 4 or so and maybe I was actually thinking months would be more appropro for HR.

On the first month of HR, my doctor said to me, "you have osteoarthritis, and you need a total hip replacement",
On the second month of HR, my doctor said to me, "you should come back and see me when you can't stand it, you have osteoarthritis, and you need a total hip replacement",
On the third month of HR, my doctor said to me,...

I can't remember anymore of it.  It was pretty sappy, and I believe I slept quite well that night, because my hips and legs don't hurt.

To Pat & all the fellow hippies & hippies to be,
Thanks to everyone who's responded & written in here. I've appreciated all the support & knowledge accessed via this fantastic site. It's great being able to fire off a question or concern & get such experienced feedback & often mind settling advice. Living over here in NZ there's not the population of HRs to gain this sort of experience & knowledge so readily available on this site.  Technology is great isn't it? Imagine attempting this sort of support network pre internet!
Pat - you rock!
Here's to you ALL & an absolutely positively awesome 2012!

hello to you all-I'm Mike from York in England.
I've not had surgery yet but hopefully will have this year.
Like so many others here, I've been confused, bewildered, depressed and everything else that comes with an arthritic hip, but on finding this fantastic site have found that I will reclaim my life, be able to ride my motorcycle again and play with my new grandson.
To Pat and everyone -thank you for completely changing my outlook to whats coming-I've gone from dreading it to looking forward to it. Cheers, Happy new year,Mike.
