Happy New Year!
I'm 6 weeks post op and for the last couple days I've expereience knee soreness and pain in my
shin area, anyone else experience anything like this at this point in recovery?
You're going to feel a lot of different twinges, especially as you start exercising muscles that may have been unused or atrophied for a while. You're also probably walking differently, so the mechanics of movement have shifted (I know they did for me).
I had some pain on my IT band on both sides, worse on the left; I also had knee pain, which I believe was due to that. The thing that helped me the most was massage (light) on the area, on the incision and most of all - I use a foam roller to go over the IT band, loosening it and in the process it really relieved the knee pain. The roller is awesome.
I had a surprising amount of lower leg pain off and on after surgery. I agree with Hernanu that it seemed to be from using muscles differently. I think every muscle inmy operated leg acted up at some point or another.
Yesterday I went snowshoeing up Mt. Seymour outside Vancouver,BC. The last time I did that I had major hip pain. This time NO HIP PAIN!!!! And I was able to dance last night to celebrate a new year without hip pain.
Best wishes.
Dan
That awesome Dan. You've worked really hard to get to the place you are in your recovery. I'm 3 weeks behind you and would love to be able to snoeshoe and dance in 3 more weeks. Good goal for me.

Hey congrats on the one year, Dan! I remember that awesome video of you going up and down the stairs early, dance is a really good use of the hips.
