Just wondering how long people had to wait for sex after surgery. I'm a 34 year old male, so I assume wife on top will be the best post surgery position. Not trying to get weird, but just curious about this

Have you had a procedure or just trying to figure out your future? I was given some fairly explicit instructions reference your topic when I was discharged. Amongst the literature was a formula to determine the recommended wait time before "relations" could/should commence.
Take your age and multiply by three...take one half of the product and divide by "pie" (3.14)...the numeric result is how many weeks you'll have to wait!
Just kidding! The hospital actually did give a handout with guidelines and positions to recommend. I was confused by the drawings because the couples depicted were fully clothed!?
Like many other aspects of your recovery...listen to your body. I think you'll know when it's time and how to approach it. There's a sex thread on Hip Talk somewhere. Do some snooping and have fun!

1 week me on top or behind her. 4 weeks her on top. I was afraid to put any weight on the hip. My wife is under 125lb but I didn't want to take any risks. You won't be a stud but you can get the job done.
8 days with wife on top. Had to tell her not to put her weight on me, but we got the job done. did it again at 11 days with much better results. She was able to put enough of her weight on me to make her happy also. Good day
I felt comfortable with it one week post-op but boyfriend was afraid he would hurt me. It took him two weeks before he felt comfortable with it! Typical missionary position

Well we did it this morning and I'm sore this evening...been feeling little needle type pains in my incision all day...Hope they go away soon I want to sleep tonight...lol

Female here - 2.5 wks out was our first adventure..... well, it's gotten better since then...LOL
The book the doctors office gave me before the surgery said to wait 6-8 weeks plus I'm still have the 90 degree rules to worry about...I'm sure things will get better soon :-*

McMinns patients are given a booklet that said 6-8 weeks. I went for the 6 but the Mrs said 8. She reckons she was only thinking of my safety. I was going mad.
