When were you able discontinue the 90 + degree restriction, was it on month post op? What about crossing your legs?
If I am not mistaken it was @ 6 weeks for us Dr. Gross restrictions, then we still had a weight lifting restriction for a while. @ 1 year most of the important healing is finished.

The restrictions were six weeks with Dr. Pritchett. Ninety degree bending and no crossing leg over the centerline. After that I slowly started pushing toward those. I couldn't bend ninety degrees for several weeks after that. Now I can stretch that leg better than before surgery. Maybe the best stretching I have done in 30 years.
Best wishes.

My 90 restriction was 3 weeks & crossing legs 6 weeks. Unfortunately I thought I had no 90 restriction, until I read the after care brochure again. I really was under the impression I had none as nothing was emphasised to me whilst in hosp.
Does not appear to have hindered my progress, though I was def breaking the rules early. Listen to your surgeon & read docs thoroughly!
Because of the anterior dislocation, I never had any restrictions. I was just told what they are and told not to push it
I didn't have a 90 degree restriction. It really seems to vary a lot between surgeons.
Mine was 6 weeks under Mr. McMinn. until all restrictions were lifted.
No 90 degree for me, the only things were no running until 6 months. Anterior approach, though.
No 90 degree restrictions for me after surgery.
I do think this depends entirely on the surgical approach. Posterior approach typically requires that restriction, anterior does not. Not sure about anterio-lateral, though not many surgeons use that (from what I've read).
I may be wrong but i think the main reason behind the 90 degree rule is based on the old small ball THR as they were prone to dislocation.
Same restrictions with with Dr. Gross. Simply one of the three ways not to replicate the dislocation move he performed. He explained to me that you are stretched out in those three ways and until 6 weeks when the danger has diminished (probably takes longer to go away completely). My Biomet was a 60/54 too.
