I may be an official member of the "over did it" club. I did 2 short walks yesterday, but with snow coming in I did a single 40 minute walk this morning. My leg swelled up like a balloon although icing for a few hours has brought most of that down. I seem to be a little stiffer when I get up from a chair. It's going to be hard to find that balance - the walk wasn't fatiguing in any way.
I had posted earlier that I lost about 1.5" in height over the last 2 years. We did a quick measurement today and it looks like I have recovered nearly all of that height loss!
Onward and upward!
WTG!!! The height, not the overdoing it. We are due for snow tomorrow, ugh! I was so ready for a real Spring! but here in the rockies, I guess that is our real Spring.
I'm impressed that you are already even walking 20 min! Nice!!
Congratulations on the walks this soon...and regaining your stature! When I tried my first walks here in Juneau last October...didn't get much further than the driveway and the crutches began slipping on the ice! Keep up the good work, but try to renounce your membership in Club ODI!

I wish I had asked for an extra few inches. I didn't know it was option.
And the best news of all is that I apparently did not overdo it yesterday. I iced for hours and this morning I have the best day to day improvement so far.
Unfortunately it is snowing this morning and I think we've received about 8" on the ground. I have spiked trail shoes that I can wear but I obviously don't want to take a chance of falling. Maybe today will be about 400 laps of the great room!
Keep it up Stephen! the laps are good, other exercises also help. Icing is the best at any time. Nice to be able to reach that top shelf?
I'm so glad that your not part of my over did club,I'm trying not to re- in list :) keep getting stronger, and don't over do it. I just got done pressure washer my horse trailer inside and the awning on the outside.
Felt fine after, but like the good girl that I am ,I'm now in the house icing.I go back to work in 2wks and I'm worried that work and barn chores are going to be to much.So I'm trying to that extra stuff now. Have a great day.
Sounds like you're having an amazing recovery! It's pretty normal to swell a lot in the first week, particularly if you're on your feet a lot. That will lessen quite a bit over the next few weeks.
Keep it up!
