Hello friends,
I have not been on this site for quite a while so I wanted to let you all know how I'm doing. It's been 11 months since my BHR and I am doing fantastic! I followed my doctor's and my PT's orders to the letter and I believe that is why I recovered so well. My incision felt kind of numb for quite some time and I experienced the normal healing itch that goes along with it, but that is all gone now and I have no pain at all!! My wife is constantly amazed at how well I climb ladders, stairs, etc that I had difficulty with before surgery! I started playing golf again about 2 months ago and the rotation of the golf swing does not cause me a bit of trouble. It's really fantastic and i am so glad that I made the decision to have the BHR procedure. I remember reading other posts where people said the procedure was life changing and it truly is. I can't say enough about this. Doctor Lannin and his team at Stanford University Hospital changed my life for the better! I'm going up to Palo Alto, CA for my 1 year follow up appointment next month and I'm looking forward to it! Good luck to all you who are considering having this done.
congrats pj...
That's great pj, sounds like you handled everything right, good luck on your one year.
Thanks for the update. I tried Golf and still can't bend over to pick up the ball. In fact. I could never bend over to pick up the ball. Says more about the need to stretch than HR. I hate stretching!
I love hearing such positive updates from our fellow hippies. I'm so glad you have your life back. Thanks for sharing your progress, it really helps.
Congrats pjh :)
Thanks for sharing PJ, looking forward to gettting there in a few months.
Congrats on your successful recovery.

Congratulations, it's always good to hear such good news.
Good to hear! I've been seeing Dr. Lannin and trying to make the decision whether or not Resurfacing is okay for my type of hip problem. Unfortunately because I'm a women with hip dysplasia he is a bit hesitant although very willing to do the Resurfacing if that is my decision. You're lucky that you are a man being that you probably had fewer worries about your decision to choose Resurfacing over a THR.
Congratulations with your new hip!! It's great news.

Great news and thank for the update - Golf - not my thing but glad you enjoy!!!
Life changing, most definetely. Good job. I'm still coming across motions that I used to not be able to do and all of sudden I realize I can do it again. It's pretty awesome.
