At last I've had a date for my hip resurfacing - 31st July. Only had 10 day notice so am in a bit of a spin trying to get everything sorted before I go in. Eventually came sooner than expected so sorting out work commitments is keeping me too busy to think much about what's in store.
Trying to take on board all the good information and advice on the site but suspect that it is all going to be a bit of a shock to the system whatever. Will let you know how i get on.
Ka
That is GREAT news Ka, not too long to worry about it. Whatever lead you here is why you are doing this, it takes time to heal, more than you'll want it to, but you will be SO much better than you are now and you can take control of your life right back from the nasty Arthritis. Good luck, I look forward to reading your healing story. Sal
Thank you Sal. Will try and be patient and not expect too much too soon. Can't believe it's now so close, it's been a long time coming.
Ka
Good luck to you Kam. Where is you surgery? Who with?
Surgery is at Morriston Hospital, West Wales, UK. Mr Woodnutt. 5 sleeps !!
The best of luck to you Ka, keep us posted.
First day was the hardest for me... Not from surgery, but from not eating for 24 hrs.... So if you can bring some dry snacks like , dehydrated fruit, raisins, protein bars, cereal bars, etc it will help... Once you get through the first night, its easy. Make a vacation out of it. Surf the net, watch some tv, and put your feet up... :)
Oh yeh, drink PLENTY of water..
Thanks for the advice. Will have to change the subject heading though. Had a phone call to cancel my operation. Have got to wait until 9 August. Disappointed, but I've waited this long another week or so isn't going to make that much of a difference!
Ka
Don't be dissappointed Ka, all for a reason. Do something you've been wanting to do. You're surgery will be all good.
Best...
Agreed. Take the extra week to get your homebase organized and ready. And good luck to you! You won't regret it.
