Title: Post Op 2 weeks
Post by: protruck14 on July 30, 2012, 07:16:08 PM
Sorry if this is not posted in the right spot. The site is a little confusing to me.

I wanted to thank everyone for their input. I am now 2 weeks post op. Dr. Jinnah in Winston-Salem NC did the surgery. He used the Birmingham BHR with the Smith and Nephew. There was a small complication. I had paralysis in my foot for the first 2 days. That has passed and I am doing short walks without the walker and using mostly just Tylenol for pain now. I go 8/1 to have the staples out and hope they clear me to drive. Glad I did it so far. Make sure you have good insurance, it aint cheap.

Congrats on the new hip! The foot is back to normal then?

Make sure you use the crutches as needed, you want to have really good gait when you're walking without aids, you'll be off them quickly enough anyways. I was also on Tylenol at your point in time - are you doing physical therapy?

Good news.
