Title: Are cortisone shots okay five months after surgery?
Post by: Miguelito on September 19, 2012, 09:40:38 AM
Hello,
I am getting a cortisone shot in my shoulder tomorrow, five months after HR. I don't think that you have to avoid cortisone shots after HR, but I just want to be hyper-cautious and get some confirmation here.
Thank you!
Mike

You might send an email to your surgeon to be sure, but I don't think it's an issue.

I had a cortisone shot in my elbow about that same time after surgery as you.  Maybe at 6 months, and I was cleared by my surgeon.

I would bet that it would be ok to get a shot but as was previously mentioned, talk to your doctor.

Thanks for the replies. I reached out to Nancy, Dr. Gross's nurse, after receiving them. She said it was fine to have a cortisone shot.

Loop closed.
