2 years ago at 44yrs old I came here to this website because I had realized that my hips were going bad and i needed info on which way to go. Thanks to all the knowledge I have gotten from all the hippys here I realized the BHR was for me...on Dec 13, I got my right hip done and 3 months later (mar 1) my left hip was done at the Cleve clinic...today im glad to say my life is full again! Started playing basketball again and able to take long walks with my wife now and walking up and down stairs doesn't scare me anymore!
Thanks to everyone here for your support and keep up the good work for future hippys
Nice post Ibbski - I agree, this site is excellent and very helpful for folks looking at HR. Plus it's nice to get your life back.
So good to see you're doing this well!
Scary stairs are definitely gone for me too - I now sometimes do (gasp!) two at a time :o .
Brilliant. That is great to hear and encouraging for all of us.
YIPPEE! Thats great news. Im so glad you are doing so well.
Thanks for the positive post too. Its nice to hear when people are doing well. I hope you have many happy years with your new wings :)
Ibbski - good to hear from you. I also had a couple of hips done at the Cleveland Clinic last year - we are both on the road to recovery - enjoy the walks and hold hands ;D ;)

Thanks for the kind words about the website and the discussion group. There are great folks here willing to help others.
Glad you found the Cleveland Clinic and have 2 great BHRs now. Wonderful that life is back on track and you are out of pain and active again.
Thank You for taking time to let us know how you are doing.

Hear Hear! When you embark on the emotional and physical journey of hip surgery this site
is invaluable. Just reading and talking to others who are in the same boat as you, people
you KNOW understand is so calming. Members on this forum are very supportive to say the
least. Again, thank you Pat and all here.
Glad it all worked for ya, this website works because of the members and the support they give. I love it when a plan works.
Stick around and have some fun.
Chuck

So very true!
it is so great to hear how well you are doing. look forward to many more years of two-at-a-time stair climbing!
Hey Ibbski;
Glad to hear it is going so well. Ne too after 2 in the past year or so.
I think I recall you having a heck of a time getting stabilized and out of the clinic after your first one, and don't recall seeing how you finally got home. If you get a moment and I'm not hallucinating, let me know how you fared.

Ibbi, I was going to say the same thing. This Thanksgiving I had to think of all the things I am truly greatlful for and Surface Hippy made it to the top ten list.
Keep on
Great to hear, Ibbi. I agree, and try to "pay it forward" whenever I can. Of course, Hernan, Tin, and others typically beat me to it......
