First time back on a road bike for charity ride and completed without a problem. Forgot I had a HR and so good to just be able to cycle without pain.
Next plan is the West Highland Way in 24 hours next spring. This is 80 miles of trails through the mountains of Scotland.
Nice one Jono, must feel good to be back on that bike :)
Brilliant.. ;D
I am getting a new bike for my birthday as I wore my old one out after surgery. It is like Triggers Broom I think the only bit that is original is the frame.
Jas
Jono - good to hear. I love the long distance mountain bike races - we have a bunch of 100K and 100miles that I will attempt next year. I did one called the Stoopid 50 - the 50mile was right but the "Stupid" was underestimated - so many rock gardens in mountains of Pennsylvania.
Awesome Jono, well done. Did you use flat pedals or clip ins? Can't wait to get out on the bike but I must admit that I am a bit apprehensive! At my 6 week review with Mr Treacy he said that within a month I'd be back out on the bike and doing the old distances.
I have just got myself an indoor trainer for my road bike, not just for winter but im hoping it will get me going after my op and give me a wee bit more confidence to start with before I go out on the roads and trails. Im gonna take the spd's off though and replace them with normal flat pedals post op. It wont be long lycraman :)

Count the days and good luck! Getting on the bike after two weeks really helped my recovery as it stretched the aching/painful thigh muscles. I changed my indoor trainer pedals to some old retro ones with toe straps. I'm just about to revert to my speedplays before I venture back out on the road.
