So today I treated myself to an hour of skating at a local rink. It's been almost a year since I last went skating and it's been much longer since I last went skating and didn't suffer for a day or so.
I had so much fun, my feet hurt so much, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I was extremely worried about losing balance and kept to basic forward and backward movements, some cross overs with my better balance leg.
( THIS WAS ALLOWED BY MY SURGEON ) -- Don't yell at me ;D
No yelling, glad that you enjoyed it - I'm sure it felt great to be back on skates.
I'm a terrible skater, so for me falling would be a significant option.
What a joy to once again do something you love!

Thats so nice to be able to go back to doing what u like. I hope I can do the same. Enjoy!!
That's great to hear, Mr B. Great Christmas present to yourself.
YIPPEEE!! Thats the best christmas prezzie. Merry christmas Mr B :)
Do you think that now I have both hips done I will be able to learn to skate? Later this season I want to learn to cross country skate ski - need to learn so I can keep up with the kids.
Glad to hear you got back out and had fun
Best advice is to talk to your doctor about the possibility and dangers. I've skated for 14 years and had difficulty keeping my balance 100% my first time out after a year of not skating.
I wouldn't want to fall on my hips just yet only being 4 months out of surgery. I'm sure it wouldn't be traumatic, but I'd rather wait till everything completely heals. ( up to one year )
