Title: Skiing and Snowshoeing
Post by: sdunn4 on January 05, 2013, 06:40:14 PM
Just a quick update at a little over 14 months post-op with Dr. Gross.  In the past week I've completed a 14.5 mile round trip snowshoe hike up one of our "trail-less" Adirondack peaks, climbing several thousand feet.  I also had my first day of downhill skiing in nearly 2 years today at Gore Mtn., a nice NYS ski area- my son and I completed 20 runs and after a few tentative turns we headed for the moguls.  Although I have some muscle soreness, it is absolutely fantastic to be able to do the things I love!  This should be great news for all contemplating the resurfacing operation .

Steve:

Thanks for the update.  I am scheduled to have my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Gross the first week of April and it is very encouraging to see that you have been able to return to such a high level of physical activity.
