After the pain really set in early Feb 08 - made decision to move forward to correct the problem. This website as well as other resources on the net have provided helpful information. If you are considering BHR - it is really worth your while to look outside of U.S. due to the short time frame it has been available here. Not really interested in being another doctor's practice run.
Dr. Treacy, being a co-inventor of resurfacing, has completed over 4,000 procedures. He has been prompt in replies with email questions - as well as called me directly on occasion with answers. I live in Northern California so when he mentioned he was going to be speaking and on a panel in Southern California - it was a no brainer to fly down there and meet him. We had a good meeting at which time most all my questions were answered. Within a few days thereafter I requested a date in June - confirmed the date - booked a flight and now just counting down the few weeks remaining. Mr. Treacy has been excellent to work with and I welcome any comments from anyone that has had Mr. Treacy complete a resurfacing.
Hi Kal
Mr. Treacy is an excellent surgeon. I have a couple stories posted by his patients http://www.surfacehippy.info/hipstories.php#Dr.%20Treacy (http://www.surfacehippy.info/hipstories.php#Dr.%20Treacy)
I hope you will write one for the website too after you get your new hip.
I wish you the very best in you upcoming surgery. I went to Belgium and loved our stay there. I am sure you will enjoy the UK too. It is a nice change from the US. Everything seems a little slower and friendlier, at least in Ghent Belgium. It almost seemed like I went back in time to the 50's. Anyways, that's what it felt like to my husband and I.
Good Luck.
Pat
