Title: No longer a skeptic...Hoka's "Time to Fly"...
Post by: David on February 25, 2013, 01:27:15 PM
Only one run in them...9 miles yesterday...but it was the best I felt in 5+ years on a run...
Why didn't you guys convince me earlier?  I've had a lot of different running shoes in my years and thought "How much different can they be?".  Well they are, and I'll let you know if I continue to feel the same with a few more runs.  Doing a 25k this Saturday, guess that will be the true test.
Thanks...(although a little late) :)

Not being a runner, but being involved in sports, I can imagine how great it must be to get shoes that can make such a change in something you love.

Did my 25K run today...ooooh cold & windy...and a wee bit hilly...(all on road)...
Managed sub 8 pace through 11 miles and finished @ 2:07  8:15 overall pace.
Stiffened and walked a litlle in the last 4 miles.
VERY happy with the Hoka shoes and with the hip as well...
Slowly crawling to different plateaus feels good.
I'd say these shoes make a big difference in lessening the impact, especially as you try to run longer...
Best...

David:  Thanks for the feedback.  I am definitely going to buy a pair once I'm cleared for running.

Dave, congratulations on your race. HipnHop desearves credit for the shoes.  I had read a lot about them on Slowtwitch but I was skeptical about just another shoe fad, especially at $170.   When HnH raved about them, I checked them out further and ordered a pair.  My legs have been thanking me ever since.  I'm glad you gave the Hoka's a try.

I must thank HnH as well. My new Hokas got me through my first half marathon since surgery almost 2 years ago. My only concern now is whether I can ever run in anything else. Not crazy about the price of replacing them, but boy I sure do like the cushion.
