Title: Psoas pain
Post by: Ross on March 17, 2013, 02:23:34 PM
Hi all.  I have groin tightness slash pain in the psoas area since surgery.  It has lessened but I do still notice it.  I am 15 weeks postop from  bilateral  with Dr Gross 11/28/12.   Wondering when this should go away.
Thanks
Ross

Ross

I'm 10 weeks post op and occasionally get groin tightness / pain which sometimes makes me take pain killing medication.

I think my recovery is still relatively early days, and I feel perhaps yours may be too especially as you are a bi-lateral.

Trying to think logically for myself the occasional groin tightness / pain isn't causing me concern. I just feel it's part of a steady recovery process, especially as I'm getting more active each day.

Perhaps another more experienced surface hippy can add more to further allay your concerns.

I had psos pain at some level for over 6 months.  It didn't stop me from doing anything, just annoyed me.  Its gone now, but the strengthening and stretching exercises are key to keeping the recovery going.  Not having any PT post op, my only regret is that I did not do the exercises with enough "diligence".  Keep doing the exercises that he gave you and stretch.

Good luck, Curt

I think that I must be on the long recovery track.  At 16 weeks, I still get back aches and hip twinges but you are right the exercises and stretching helps

I too have had psoas pain. The pain has always occured when I have not exercised or
stretched that day or a few days. I feel the best when I get my exercise and stretching
in every day. I think use it or lose it !
