Well I made it through. I will say that the staff here at S. Joes, Syracuse, NY are wonderful. I went into the OR at 7:30am and by 3pm I was able to walk about 12 feet down the hall. Ventured out of bed at 8:00pm. Getting up aqnd moving for me reduces my surgery pain so I am looking forward to starting PT today.
The weather forecast for us here in Cenral New York will be perfect for getting out walking.
Also, I nelieve I made tje right decision for docs. Staying local here works better for my family. :)

Well done Kim.
Isn't it amazing that you could take some steps so soon after surgery?
Be extra patient and extra good to yourself as the coming weeks unfold - your body will benefit from all the help you can give it so that you repair strongly.
Good luck.
Congratulations Kim!
You'll go through a lot of different experiences in healing. It will be hard in some places, surprisingly easy in others. Keep the hard work up, it really pays off.
Congrats on your new hip, keeping moving when practical will help alot. As you recover, do the pt, ice, ice, ice, take the meds when needed, and you'll be doing great in no time.

Congratulations Kim! Early PT was very helpful for me. Stretching was hard, but it really made me feel better in the early days post op.
All the best.
:) Wow you should have a great recovery! I thought I was doing good. I didn't get
out of the bed until the next day and screamed like a little girl!
3 wks post op feel great, at work this procedure is amazing!

Thanks all.
Well tomorrow marks one week already. Time sure flies. Off pain meds and only taking Tylenol now and icing. My head feels so much clearer without all the meds. Graduated from the walker to the crutches as soon as my head was clear and my coordination came back. Was way too unstable on the meds.
Learned yesterday that Dr. Clarke did not use any staples and see there is absolutely no bruising of which I am thankful for.
