Title: Playing Basketball
Post by: Drago141 on April 20, 2013, 11:12:02 PM
I had LBHR performed on  6/30/2011 by Dr. Ronald Light in Long Island, NY. I am at the 20 month post op mark and am feeling fine, I am a bit over weight and wanted to know if it would be better to lose some weight before starting to play basketball competitively? I have started to notice that my right hip is beginning to act up from time to time and may be deteriorating.

Thanks,

Drago

I would say loose weight before doing impact stuff

I would work it in slowly, try just shooting baskets, or playing one on one. You'll be able to tell whether the basics are going to be ok.

Thanks Ronan and Herman for your feedback.
