I thought I'd share a positive recovery milestone.
Just over a week ago I walked to the top of Snowdon and back down (via the Watkin path for those who know the mountain). For the information of all outside the UK Snowdon is the highest mountain we have in Wales / England.
Fortunately the weather conditions were perfect - the view on route and particularly from the top were something I had really missed. The week before I had two aborted attempts due to snow / very poor weather conditions.
My rapid descent into hip pain commenced in the summer of 2009 and that was the end of my hill walking until now.
I now look forward to re-starting squatting in a couple of months, and I'd love to feel confident enough to go on a ski holiday at the end of the year.
Thanks for all the great advice and support I've received to date.
Best wishes to all current and future surface hippies.
That's awesome mate! Great achievement! Well done mucker!
Thanks Danny.
I simply could not have got to this point without your advice and support - something I'll always be grateful for.
Also, of course, I'll always be grateful to Mr Treacy.
I'm just glad I could help someone else. This site and members along with the late Vicky Marlow got me to where I am now.
Nice milestone, keep it up!
Thanks Hernan.
From my very first posting your advice and support has meant so much to me - I'll always be grateful to you also.
Well done to you on having the op done.
I have been putting my op off for about 3 years I said I will only have mine done when it affected me playing badminton but I have been struggling more the last 6months.
I have just found this great site and I'm learning lots.
Im waiting on another referral for the royal orthapaedic hospital to see mr traecey.

Once you get your appointment with Mr Treacy he'll start the ball rolling to get you in for the operation and get your life back on track - good luck.
Looking forward to seeing you post over in the skiing topic by end of year!
Thanks.
I really hope I manage to do it - simply the thought of picturing myself there on the slopes makes me smile.
Well done sounds fantastic. Wish I lived within a decent distance pretty flat round here.
Mind you I have been up and down our Caister on Sea Mountain several times even did when i was on crutches, it is the highest Mountain in the Great Yarmouth area climbing to a massive 17m above Sea level. Oh and I forgot to mention, I did it without Oxygen or ropes.
All joking aside though Snowdon is an awesome acheivement, post Op I would have struggled up our little camp hill.
Jas
Thanks Jason.
If you've conquered Caister on Sea mountain I'm quite confident you could take Snowdon!
