It is awesome.
Your own body weight for resistance.
All balance and muscle work.
Has helped me so much with my general strength and specific running strength.
I'm at a good point 1 year + 9 months.
2 13.1's this year and a crazy 16.5 trail race as well as the Whitney climb...
Going into a 70.3 race in a few weeks then gearing up for the 70.3 Triathlon World Championships in Las Vegas in September...
Strengthening is absolutely the key to getting back and using your new hip to the best...

Great uplifting post David.
70.3 miles is one hell of a distance to race over.
I don't compete so feel I get all I need from walking, cycling, swimming, gym, but out of interest I'll have a look at TRX.
Best of luck in your upcoming races.
I am definitely going to try this.
It just makes you feel so balanced and strong.
Added bonus is the lbs come off quickly...
I did P90X. That was awesome. Not sure how it compares to TRX.
Arrojo,
TRX is functional resistance training with suspension straps.
Balance and strength is basically it. No real cardio component unless you add it.
I was doing it inside a gym that had an 1/8 mile track and was throwing in 2 laps in between
the trx sets. That gets your body shaking a bit.
I never saw or tried the P90X videos, but heard they are great if you stick to it.
Butt is finally getting back to normal 6 days after my race.
I've never been a sprinter, can you post or pm me one of your typical track workouts these days?
Thanks.
Timely post. We've been in Europe the past three weeks and stopped in Boston on the way back to see family. I went to a commercial gym on Monday that had the TRX straps set up. I had seen them but never used them. I have a push up bar at home that allows a better range of motion than the floor and I finish my weight workouts with 40 push ups. I tried the TRX straps at the end of the workout on Monday and could do.....1 push up, very poorly. We are looking at adding the straps to our home gym as we speak, when I noticed your post.
Stephen,
It's different right?
Really does force you to engage your entire core to do most the excercises correctly.
I did a 10 week course and that ended. Waiting for straps I ordered to arrive.
Actually thinking about taking the TRX instructor course.
Be well.
