My name is Ron and I am 65 years old. I have always been a busy body and love to work outside on my pool and then yard. I have always been an active person. 3 years ago, I began having pain in my left hip that caused me to limp and I was unable to do a lot of things that I normally would do.
I went to see Dr. Kusuma at Grant Medical Center. He informed me that I had hip OA. He gave me a steroid shot and I felt great...for only a week, unfortunately. Next step was surgery. I was a candidate for a BHR. I had the surgery in October 2010. Upon waking from anesthesia, the arthritic pain was GONE!! Of course, there was the typical postoperative pain and soreness but by the third week, I was wanting to lose the walker and cane. I was given home exercises to do but no outpatient physical therapy was needed!
I can't say how much I recommend this surgery!
It was a life saver. Thanks to Dr. Kusuma for his wonderful work!
Ron
Thank You for your story. I changed the subject to add Dr. Kusuma's name. Many people look for stories from specific surgeons.
I am glad you took time to write a story. If you have any updates in the future, please feel free to add them.
Meanwhile, Good Luck and enjoy that new hip.
Pat
Ron, I'm following right in your footsteps. Congrats, and great results.
