Right BHR last tuesday. The first several days I didn't really have any feeling of awareness of something different in my hip joint itself- just normal, to be expected pain. Then I started to be aware of non- painful " clunking " for lack of a better term. No pain, no real sound, just a sensation with certain movements. I don't feel that it is something to be alarmed about, and could alway call the ortho resident on call - but wanted to ask on here if it is a fairly normal occur acne at this point? I am trying to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Very normal Pat, and you will deal with it for a while.
It stayed with me for a year, but much diminished. It is just part of the healing process for most of us, until the muscles around the device are strong enough to lower it to the point it's barely noticeable.
Hydration, strengthening, and just time help.
I'm nearly 90 weeks post op and I still clunk occasionally
Same here 18 months and still clunk occasionally but drink a bucket of water and it goes.
I am 4+ years post-op and I still get clunking once in a while. It is always when I am slightly dehydrated and happens when I bend over while forgetting to bend my knees.
All of my cars are 5 speed and every time I push clutch in , mine clunks,, scares me, when I do my therapy it clunks lol ... Sounds like its normal according to you all..
I am 5 weeks post-op now and have minimal "clunking" I'm sure I'll have more off and on the more I do, but now know to not worry about is :)
