New to the forum. Greetings! I also posted this in Hip Stories. Sorry for the double post.
I have learned that I am a candidate for Resurfacing. Been reading the forum for about a year and still find the decision to be heavy and know it's time to chime in here. I'm an active dude, 35, with FAI in both hips and only bit of cartilage remains.
Anyone have any info they know now, that they wish they had known sooner? Please pass it on.
Looking hard at:
Dr. Gross, I appreciate cement-less and his reputation
Dr. Prichett, nice reputation
I feel super concerned about MoM issues.
Thanks,
tony

The only regret I have is not researching doctors more. Go to a re-surface guru who believes re-surfacing is better and is passionate about it. Re-surface specialists only ! No newbies, let them learn on someone else. My $.03 8)
I'd listen to Some Dude... he's got a lot more experience than I do. Makes great T-shirts too.
I'm 6 months out from my second BHR surgery, both with Dr. Pritchett. I've been very satisfied overall and highly recommend Dr. Pritchett - he's excellent. Feel free to read my blog (see signature for URL) for some details on the first several weeks after each surgery.

Give Joshua Hickman a look, he is listed on this website. Short drive north of Salt Lake, a direct flight from Anchorage. I am getting my hips done in Jan/Feb and did lots of research as well. Active skier, hiker and biker. Need to get my life back and he has over 1,000 resurfacing surgeries.
