Just had my left hip resurfaced at HSS by Dr Edwin Su 11am on 2/14: I can do all my bed exercises and have walked about 50ft on crutches in total.
Feel a little nauseous due to not eating.
But the sharp painful bone clicking and impingement feeling when articulating me hip is gone. The muscle and joint is totally sore but so far I feel a relief from my constant impingement pain in my left hip. Like a giant splinter being removed only 1000 x better :)
I'm 33 going on 34 in April. I'm hoping to get back to casual basketball pickup in 12 months :)
Congratulations, cisco.leon!
You had a very good surgeon and I'm sure you will recover nicely. You're pretty young and will probably feel pretty good in a month or two. Don't over do it. Be patient and let that hip heal.
It's amazing how good it feels to get that arthritis out of there! Welcome to the other side!
welcome on the other side!!
the first week and the second are not really fun. be patient with yourself and your environment. later everything becomes more easy and you will settle in a kind of routine. I was depressed when I noticed what I could do on my own; like: to have a shower, carry things or reach the lower parts of a closet.
Congrats! It is a great feeling to have that pain gone.
There's a lot of work to be done, but you'll feel good to see all of the improvement on the way.
Be patient and walk as much as you can...
Congrats Cisco!
I echo what the other folks wrote. Take it slow, you will get there in time!
