First time poster so not sure if I'm in correct forum and apologize if so. I'm at 12 weeks post op having right hip resurfaced by doctor gross. Recovery is going good still doing pt exercises, stretches, walking two miles a day and practicing stairs with handrails. Only issue I'm having is when I sit on incision (hip) feels like I'm sitting on something solid like a brick and still feel some tightness in that area. Also have some front thigh pain and start up pain. Is this normal and if so when can expect it to go away?
I'd say that's normal mate if in doubt speak to your surgeon though
Agreed that it doesn't sound serious. I had some post-op questions and Dr. Gross' staff was always very helpful, so don't hesitate to call them if you want expert advice.
Totally normal. I described the feeling as sitting directly on a softball I had in my back pocket, towards the top of my glute. It went away gradually. I always had a pillow to sit on for a few months.
The startup pain is also normal. It will slowly decrease until you don't remember it. If you still have it at, say 6 months, then you might ask about it. But, like "old" said, they're always willing to answer your questions.
