Title: Post Op Recovery Issue
Post by: derrick hamm on May 13, 2015, 06:07:47 PM
Hi gang, just joined the group.  I've read lots of stories here that have been helpful to me and hope to get some advice/help again specific to my problem.  Here's my issue:  I've had both hips resurfaced recently.  Left one Nov 2014 and right one late Dec 2014.  Left one healed like a champ, no issues at all.  Right one has been the complete opposite.

I went to my doc with my complaints and based on his review of my continued limp, lack of leg strength, and very limited flexibility, he has told me he thinks the muscles around the hip did not reattach themselves to the bone properly.  There is a fancier way of saying that but I don't remember the words he used.  I just went for an MRI and am supposed to meet with him tomorrow.  If his concerns are realized, he will have to cut me open again to repair.  I'd be looking at another 2 months of rehab, not to mention another big medical bill.

I cannot begin to tell you all how disheartening this is making me, but am hoping to hear from you to see if anyone else has been told the same thing.  I want to believe that I'm simply healing much slower on this hip, but his face told me he is not optimistic.  I'm sure I'm leaving out some pertinent piece of info to add to the story, but I think this covers what I'm dealing with.  I'm male, 48, still in good shape overall.  Was really hoping to be getting back in great shape by now but that's not happening.   Thanks all...

Derrick,
What was the outcome of this. I'm experiencing something similar.
Thanks
