Title: New member - May 27
Post by: TaxlawJ on June 21, 2015, 03:06:37 PM
I am new to the group. I had a hip resurfacing on May 27, 2015. It was performed by Dr. Jeff Davis at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Recovery is going wonderful. I am already on a walking cane. I walk around my home without anything. I stayed in the hospital for two days. I did physical therapy for 6 days at home and now I am walking on my own about 2.5+ Miles a day.  I went back to work last week just for half a day. Tomorrow I plan on going back fully. I am a male, 39 years old and former college football player. Translation- big guy. But was very active before surgery and plan on getting back there soon.

This group is awesome because it gave me some idea of what to expect. So thanks so much for that. That is really helpful. I'm glad to be a member.

Congratulations! It sounds as if you are making an excellent recovery.

I was older than you for my first one (51), but that was over fifteen years ago and it is still performing as well as when it was new, so you should look forward to a much more active and enjoyable life.

Thanks so much. Feeling better by the day. The cane is now gone but have a slight limp. The leg is getting stronger by the day.

Congratulations! You'll see many improvements as you go. You are still very early on, keep at it.
