Title: Experience with resurfacing/replacement in Judo
Post by: rmjudo on July 01, 2015, 02:40:12 AM
There was a thread in this forum concerning resurfacing/replacements  in judo or other martial arts and grappling.  But that thread hasn't seen any activity for a few years now and I was just wondering if there are still folks here who have returned to hard training/competition in judo or other grappling after receiving a new hip or resurfacing. I really wish to remain active on the mat and would like to consider resurfacing as an alternative to a total hip replacement.  But, there appears to be relativity few docs still doing resurfacing as opposed to total replacements. I was hoping that some of the folks on this thread might still be active here and could tell us how they're doing.  Thanks.

Hi mate I'm now a bilat of 4 months and I'm slowly working back to getting on the mat. I've done a couple of very light sessions so far but will build up slowly.

Where in the world are you as this will effect which surgeon you have access to.
