May 29 had my right hip resurfaced by Dr Scott Marwin at NYU/HJD. Home the next day, and five weeks out I am now beginning to feel MUCH better. Still somewhat stiff and sore, but I am walking and biking, played golf (walk, no ride) last Saturday, and doing PT 3x a week, and my limp is going away. Dr Marwin tells me to do what i want short of impact sports, so I have my basketball to look forward to in 4 months, and hoping to be back on the football field (referee) in the fall.
My question is with sleep. I cannot find a comfortable spot to sleep, as I am a side sleeper and sleeping on my back is a struggle. Spent first few weeks mostly in a recliner, but I am now back in my bed. I can sleep for a bit, then roll over, and that starts my rolling and adjusting for a long while. Bottom line- not much quality sleep in the last few weeks.
Maybe some of you have had a similar issue, would like to know how you adjusted and what worked for you. Thanks for the feedback
I'm now sleeping either side ok, at ten weeks, probably for a week or two on operated side.
Before then, up to my six week check up and for a little after, I used a pillow between knees but found it also has to keep my feet apart too, otherwise gets uncomfortable. Maybe try that if you haven't ready?
