Hello, fellow hippies. I was recently interviewed on the Masterstrack.com website, wherein I discuss my recovery from hip resurfacing surgery to competition, among other things. I also mention this website as being especially helpful in providing me the information I needed to make an informed decision. :)
You can read the whole article here:

Enjoy!
Dang! I want to be like you.
So is there somewhere I can see the 16 week resurfacing to 5K training plan? I have a few months before I am released to run, but not too soon to start dreaming.
Do you recall the weaknesses/tightness you had?
Thanks blinky,
I posted the resurfacing to 5K program in the running forum awhile back: http://surfacehippy.info/hiptalk/index.php?topic=3941.0
Obviously, you need to be cleared for running before you begin that.
I don't recall any weakness actually. I do get tightness in the hip flexor area - in addition to A.R.T. once a month, I use a foam roller on the area before and after every run. I'd recommend both ART and foam rolling to anyone who's had a resurfacing regardless of whether you are a runner.
:) Cool Arrojo. Cheers K
Thanks, that was terrific. I saved it.
I can see where ART will be helpful in the future. Right now I am trying to get stronger in ad and abductors and undo some bad habits.
