Hi everybody, just wondering if anyone has had to have a revision of their   BHR implanted by
Ronan Treacy and if Mr Treacy carried out the revision to THR himself.

Hi.I'm a Mr Treacy patient, just curious to know why you need a revision?

Hi gasyz, long story but I had a right BHR in November 2013. Unfortunately always had groin pain To some degree but it became acute after 9 months , together with shifting  and catching sensation and impingement. After two years of PT,  ultrasound, steroid injections, it was decided to do a tendon release to help with the impingement and pain. The problem was the psoas tendon
Catching the acetabular and becoming inflamed causing tendon it is and bursitis.Sadly, it did not work and I am worse now than before my original operation.Mr Mc Bryde, who did the tendon release, informed  that there was a 5mm acetabular anteversion, where the cup was protruding from the hip socket, irritating the psoas and causing the impingement and tendonitis. The only solution now, is a revision. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.

Wow that's not good.Have you got Mr Treacy's opinion on it?.seems a shame to loose the femoral ball because of a cup problem, would be interesting to see what he has to say.

I'm now waiting for an appointment with Mr Treacy. Mr Mc Bryde is a colleague of his and it was him that pointed out that the cup edge was protruding from the socket. My concern is whether my psoas is now so tight and inflamed that it won't glide over a revision seated acetabular cup. A revision to that would be better but I'm  not sure about possible edge loading either.Hopefully, he can advise me on the correct course of action but I can't continue like this.

Best of luck with it.keep us posted.
