Title: Pre-R.E.M. Sleep muscle spasms / minor jolt shake
Post by: packman on October 04, 2017, 01:49:14 PM
hi ev1 - I'm back after 4 1/2 years but now bilateral status
As of Monday sept 25 I am now a BHR on my left side with Dr Schemitsch London Ontario Canada
My previous right hip was a biomet resurface with Dr Gross USA -march/13
I will do an update compare and contrast later.

Question
Has anyone experienced immediately prior to R.E.M. Sleep a muscle spasm jolt or shake to the hip area?
It only lasts 2 seconds but is irritating discomfort to the mind?
How long did the conditions last?

I experienced this just past day 7 and went off the pain drug hydro morphin - I had a total no sleep last night but my pain threshold was bearable

It's the precious sleep I want as not yet read to sleep on non incision side with pillow yet

I'm chalking it up to the traumatized muscles
Thx in advance

I'm going to chalk this up as a hypnagogic jerk - that being the spasm / twitch- there is some google stuff out there on this but will discuss with drs. At next appt
Makes a lot of sense given sleep deprivation stress and fatigue plus jumping off the pain meds and irregular sleep routine plus flushing hydration probably emptied too many electrolytes
Something I will keep an eye on and some other readings under sleep myoclonus
This never happened in my first right resurface. Experience over 4 years ago
Last night I did not experience - early this morning I did
